God Is With You Bible Verses: Find Strength and Hope

September 7, 2026

Life can seem so difficult when you’re in fear, overwhelmed by stress, grieving a loss or unsure of what’s ahead.

And during those difficult times here is a single truth, straight from the Bible, that can bring you comfort: God is with you.

The Bible has numerous verses that constantly remind us that God will not abandon us, and His presence can encourage us when we are weak and instill hope when the outcome is uncertain.

This list of powerful God is with you scriptures and few life lessons to be learned from each.

What Does the Bible Say About God With Me?

Throughout the Bible, we are repeatedly told God is near his people.

But just because he’s present doesn’t mean that we won’t encounter trials as we live this life.

Scripture reveals how we can rely on God’s presence to get us through them.

God told Joshua:

“Be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Bible Verse to Uplift 9. Deuteronomy 31:6

Joshua 1:9

Joshua was on the cusp of leading God’s people into a new and challenging chapter.

God did not give him easy waters to navigate. He gave him His presence.

So it is a very helpful message for us. You may not be able to see the video from where you are

But you can hope that God is on our side.

Bible Verses About God Being With You

1. Isaiah 41:10

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.

It is one of the most straightforward Bible verses about God’s presence. God is saving us from our fear because we have nothing to be afraid of.

Feeling fear? This verse will remind you that you do not have to rely on your strength – God will carry and help you.

2. Deuteronomy 31:8

And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee.

Adonai spoke these words to Joshua as he was about to lead Israel.

Here’s the message: God is ahead of you, with you, and will never leave you.

This promise can be a reminder to put your trust in God as you experience a new job, a new home, a new decision, or a time of uncertainty.

3. Psalm 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.

To say that we will never walk through dark valleys is never a promise made in Psalm 23. It actually says that God will be with us in the valley.

This is an especially special verse in the year of grief, fear or hurting. You may travel through a hard place, but you don’t have to do it by yourself.

4. Matthew 28:20

Jesus gave His disciples this promise:

“And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

This words post at the end of Jesus’ Great Commission where He says to ‘Go and make disciples of all nations’.

,Give they lack expectation. Jesus did not send them into the world empty handed. He promised to accompany them.

To modern-day Christians this would be a very significant reminder of Christ still being with us.

5. Hebrews 13:5

So that we may boldly say,”If God be for us, who can be against us?”

This verse is a reminder to all believers that God does not forsake His people.

When you’re left out or feeling lonely, God’s promise is bigger than your feelings. Circumstances may change but God’s promise does not.

When You Feel Like God Is Far Away

There are times you may be in a place where you don’t feel His presence.

Pray may be hard, circumstances may have you wondering where God is.

The Bible does not promise that we will always feel close to God. But scripture keeps inviting us to believe in Him.

Psalm 34:18 says:

Psalm 34:18  The Lord stays close to people who are hurting. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 . God is near when your heart feels sad or broken.

God Looks After the Hurting Your pain is not evidence that God has quit taking care of you.

Don’t rule out the presence of God by how you feel. Go back to the Bible. Continue to pray.

Read the Word of God.

Trust His promises. Persevere in faith, when the answer is silence.

How Do You Know God Is With You?

Here are a few simple ideas for remembering this truth:

  •  Read Scripture Enjoy God’s Word Each Day.
  •  Pray without a mask: Express your true feelings and even your doubts and needs to God.
  • Remember His promises: Copy down Scriptures that give you hope.
  • Trust Him in the unknown: You don’t need to know everything about tomorrow.
  • Find spiritual support: Christians in your social circle can speak into your life, bringing comfort and hope when you’re going through a difficult time.

We don’t earn God’s presence when we live the perfect life, Scripture just calls us to trust God and walk with God.
